Silly Faces

Well, now that I completely skipped over Halloween here on the blog, let’s jump right to Christmas, shall we?

I spotted a great children’s plate last year on a favorite website of mine, uncommongoods. Basically it is just a simple face on a white plate. The idea is the kids can use their food to create funny characters. I loved the idea, but didn’t end up buying it last year. This year I spotted a great idea on pinterest and decided to merge the two things together into one project. Do you know that you can draw on plates and cups with permanent marker? You just bake for 30 minutes and voila! Completed project! So I decided to make my own face plates.

I started with a couple white plates Image

and an array of permanent markers.

I drew out the face and began coloring it in. (Tip, the metallic markers don’t work as well as the normal ones)

I finished the face and put in in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes.

And that is it. Seriously, nothing more to it. Check out my next post where I show off the completed plates.
